Interview

Thanks to GetMalta and the lovely Andrea Britton, this interview appeared yesterday, giving a much needed boost to my weekend. I’m currently in rehearsal for Lorca’s Blood Wedding (Manoel Theatre, Malta – 10th, 11th and 12th May) so this interview’s very timely. And now for my favourite lines from Lorca’s incredible play:

I do not want to share your bed or food

but every minute of the day,

I long to be with you.

You pull me and I go along,

and then you push me back.

And helplessly I follow you,

like a straw blown on the wind.

Words of Writing Wisdom

The real success of the writing process? As Jonathan Gunson says, it’s by ‘delving into the mysteries of your deepest interests and fascinations – writing from the heart, and therein lies the secret.’

‘we must draw from our deepest wells.  These are the interests that we’d continue to pursue and learn about even if we weren’t writing about them.’

‘The bottom line is to look in the mirror and ask yourself this question:  “Am I a creator or an imitator?”  So trust your muse, have faith and reach into the bell jars and the high towers of your imagination. You’ll find your originality by delving deeply into the things you love.’

Inspirational words which make perfect sense to me.
